This dataset was used to produce land cover change maps for Figure 3.5 as part of a master's thesis titled- Repeatable methods for classification of alien and native vegetation in the Montane grasslands.

Three data entries are included: (1) r script- for coding and visualisation (2) GeoTIFF with four generalised land cover types during 1990-2020 for alien vegetation and (3) GeoTIFF with four generalised land cover types during 1990-2020 for native vegetation.

This dataset illustrates the changes that occurred in both alien and native vegetation as four generalised land cover changes (i.e. Other land cover changes, loss, expansion and stable) between 1990 and 2020, using a harmonised Landsat time series.

Date of data collection: February 2020

Location of data collection: Blyde River Canyon Conservancy and its surrounds, in Mpumalanga/Limpopo Provinces, South Africa.
