This dataset composes 10 excel sheets which demonstrate the different information extracted from the QEMSCAN analysis of 17 different coal particulate samples.

Sheet 1 contains the data validation information of each scanned sample. This report consists of the mineral and element distributions from the QEMSCAN, XRD and XRF analyses.

Sheet 2 reports the precision on the mineral abundance values on the QEMSCAN data in sheet 1.

Sheet 3 contains the particle size distribution information (based on equivalent circular diameter).

Sheet 4 contains information on the composition of particles based on their size fraction.

Sheet 5 represents the liberation data on the main minerals: clays, quartz, and pyrite.

Sheet 6 shows the calculations used to determine the confidence limits associated with the liberation data reported in sheet 5.

Sheet 7 reports the liberation and association data. This data compares the fraction of liberated grains to unliberated composite particles containing either quartz, clays, or pyrite and further distinguishes the compositional association between minerals in this unliberated fraction.

Sheet 8 summarises the information extracted on particle roughness.

Sheet 9 summaries the data on the elemental distribution of iron, calcium and silicon.

Sheet 10 summaries the distribution of particle shapes amongst the samples.
