Hail Stone Midden OES Bead Samples

These microscope images were taken as part of the 2024 Masters Thesis: An Investigation of OES Bead Size Variability and Introduction of Cup Morphology by Nicola Wells (Supervisors Assoc Prof Deano Stynder and Dr Wendy Black).

The images were taken using a ZEISS SteREO Discovery.V8 stereomicroscope and the cuticle surface (Side 1) and mammillary surface (Side 2) were photographed next to a scale bar. The images are PNG files named according to: Site, identifier, accession number and “side”.

These images correspond to entries in the “OES Bead Measurement Data Western Cape” database.
