Results are presented for the conditioning of the 2022 hake Reference Set (RS) of Operating Models (OMs) to be used in testing OMP-2022. Contrary to the 2018 RS, all models estimate both species to be above π΅π‘€π‘†π‘Œ. Some of the estimates of the survey catchability coefficients are unrealistically high, but this is most likely a consequence of trade-offs between fitting to different types of data, rather than simply biologically unrealistic results. The Ricker models appear to have multi-modal likelihood surfaces with β€œswitching” between the M. capensis stock recruitment parameters, but in all cases estimates of abundance remain above π΅π‘€π‘†π‘Œ.
