International Review Panel Report for the 2023 International Fisheries Stock Assessment workshop.

The 2023 International Fisheries Stock Assessment Workshop covered a wide range of topics relevant to the development of management regimes that best achieve management goals. This high-quality research included work on the stocks of southern African hakes, sardine, and squid. There was also a general discussion related to non stationarity in population dynamics and how this should be identified and included in assessment and Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) analyses3. This report starts with observations from the Panel on some general issues for the species and analysis programmes reviewed, and then focuses on answering questions posed to the Panel, providing a more detailed technical review where necessary. Much of this report reflects responses to the questions.
