Suggestions for setting Interim TAC/Bs for 2025 in December 2024

As survey results will not be available in time to recommend TAC/Bs for the start of the small pelagic fishing season in 2025, suggestions are made for how Interim TAC/B recommendations could be made based on recent January-March (by-)catches. The following suggestions are offered at this time: Interim initial anchovy TAC = 50 000t, interim sardine TAC = 15 000t west and 15 000t east, interim initial ≤14 cm sardine TAB with anchovy = 2 500t, interim ≤14 cm sardine TAB with sardine and round herring = 500t, interim round herring PUCL = 85 000t, final horse mackerel PUCL = 13 391t and final mesopelagic PUCL = 25 000t.
