Consolidated proposals for the future of island closures are made separately for Dassen and Robben islands, and for St Croix and Bird Islands. For the former pair, the argument is made that closures should cease immediately, given that results from the closures to date have indicated little to no benefit for the penguins; however, monitoring of reproductive success should continue in case future results to the contrary become evident. For the latter pair, the current feasibility study should continue until a power analysis has been completed.
