Calculation of the horse mackerel demersal by-catch reserve for 2025

<p dir="ltr">As recommended in FISHERIES/2016/OCT/SWG-DEM/79, the average reported incidental bycatches for the period in question (now updated to 2000-2024) should be used to estimate a more representative demersal trawl exploitation rate exploitation rate value. Further, the DSWG has adopted an approach of using the upper 95th percentile of the distribution of F values to allow for catchability fluctuations. Future demersal trawl by-catches of horse-mackerel are then estimated as:</p><p dir="ltr">Future demersal bycatches = ��̅���������� * ��������������</p><p dir="ltr">and the resulting value is then used to set the demersal trawl horse mackerel by-catch reserve</p>
