Extending the Aggregated Biomass Model for Sardine to provide MP-Like Projections

The aggregated biomass model developed for sardine is used in projection mode to enable a simple Management Procedure-like approach to inform on appropriate harvested proportions (F) of a survey biomass estimate of sardine to set as a TAC. This would be based on the extent of reduction below a pristine level that might result from harvest. Results are initial, and the approach requires further discussion. Nevertheless, estimates of F provided in Table 2 and Figure 4, and with performance statistics for both coasts summarised in Tables 3a and 3b, would seem to have potential to inform on setting TACs until more sophisticated models have been completed.
