Relative estimates for annual poaching levels for abalone in Zones A to D are given for an approach which simultaneously models the “old” and the “new” poaching databases, as has been applied to poaching databases for west coast rock lobster. These results are compared to those from a previous GLM method reported by Brandão and Butterworth (2016), in which a GLM method was applied to the “old” database only. The poaching indices for Zones A-D show a decreasing trend from the highest estimate in 2014, with a slight increase over the last two years.
