Relative estimates for annual poaching levels for abalone in Zones A-G and Zones E-G are given for an approach which simultaneously models the “old” and the “new” poaching databases, as has been applied to poaching databases for west coast rock lobster. These results are compared to those from a previous GLM method reported by Brandão and Butterworth (2016), in which a GLM method was applied to the “old” database only. The poaching indices for Zones A-G and Zones E-G show a decreasing trend from the highest estimates in 2018 and in 2018 - 2019 respectively, with a slight increase over the last two years.
