On the potential impact of any catch correlation with biomass on estimates of the effect of fishing parameter λ

<p>The bias adjustment which needs to be made to estimates of the fishing effects parameters λ in the penguin island closure experiment to account for measurement error in the biomass term in the associated GLM estimation process is examined. A range of values for the correlation coefficient evidenced between anchovy catches around Dassen and Robben island and anchovy</p> <p>recruitment strength are considered. The extent of these bias adjustments to the original λ values is relatively small (and does not change the sign of the λ).</p>
