Some key information regarding the proposed Reference for the 2022 OMP revision is detailed for the approval by the DWG, so that conditioning of the Reference Set can commence. The proposed Reference Set consists of the same nine Operating Models as the 2018 Reference Set. The only proposed change to the assessment model is to update the mortality-at-age vector to that from the latest hake predation model. Some further points for the DWG to note and discuss are listed. The OMP revision will follow a similar process to that in 2018, with tuning of the OMP formula parameters, investigation of the TAC cap and exploration of behaviour for robustness tests. One important additional consideration will be the relative weightings of the different CPUE and survey indices in the OMP formula, to ensure that future missing surveys do not result in any one index having much more influence than intended.
