Updated 2024 horse mackerel assessments and projections

This document reports updated 2024 horse mackerel assessments, along with constant midwater catch projections for the updated base case model. Full model descriptions are provided along with the updated input data. The further low Desert Diamond CPUE for the 2023 season is noted with some concern. It is preliminarily suggested that despite the Desert Diamond CPUE drop in 2022 and 2023, the midwater TAC should be maintained at its 2023 level, but that the possible reasons for that drop need further discussion and that effort limitation needs to be considered.
